The Pup Portrait Co.

Quick start guide
Welcome to the Studio
Your dog’s photoshoot should be fun, relaxed, and full of personality. A little preparation goes a long way in helping us capture those perfect expressions and magical moments. We’ve created a help guide below to obtain the best results from your pets studio session. For all other questions please contact us.
01.
What to bring
Small, high value treats chopped up small. Sticky treats like peanut butter or pate are brilliant for tongue out shots and lip licking sessions. Favourite toys for play shots and excitement. Any props you’d like to have featured in the photos.
Top tip – keep toys and treats hidden until needed so not to over excite your dog too early.
02.
Before you arrive
To keep the studio clean and the photos looking there best please make sure your dog has had time to toilet. Please ensure your dog is brushed, clean and ideally with trimmed nails. A bath the day before is strongly recommended. to obtain the best results.
03.
Training and handling
No formal training is required but it is extremely helpful to have a basic sit/lie down and wait command. The studio room is secure so dogs are able to be off lead during the session but a lead (which can be edited out later) maybe required at times to keep them in place on the backdrop.
04.
Nervous dogs
Your dogs wellbeing always comes first. Nervous dogs are welcomed and handled slowly and gently. We allow plenty of time for dogs to acclimatise to the space and equipment. If a dog becomes too stressed we stop the session. Sessions should always be positive and enjoyable. If needed we can reschedule for another day – np pressure, no forcing.
05.
Photograph styles
I shoot in two distinct styles so theres something for every personality.
Signature Collection – muted, timeless tones with dark, moody or clean white backgrounds which create classic, elegant portraits.
Vibrant & Fun – Bright, colourful high energy images. Often shot with a wide angle lens for playful, expressive slightly Disney style magic.

Studio FAQ’s
Will there be other dogs present?
No. There will be no clients on the premises during the session. My own dogs will be shut away in a separate room.
How many dogs can I bring?
Due to space constraints a maximum of two dogs can be in the studio at a time. If you’d like to bring more we can arrange two sessions and stitch images together if needed.
